FORM-FIT Sanitary Apron, U.S.A., 1900-1920?

Stores and catalogs offered sanitary aprons in the early decades of the twentieth century. Made of rubber attached to cloth, and worn over the women's buttocks under her dress, they protected clothing against menstrual leakage. The box below - we see the front and back - is probably from the 1920s.

Here is a 1914 facsimile apron based on an illustration from the Sears catalog.
