A pioneering woman physician and a
mail-order business for women's
diseases and menstruation:
Dr. Grace Feder
Thompson
In keeping with the aggressive
American style of the era (or any
era, for that matter) - this
material is dated 1912 -
Dr. Grace Feder Thompson, of San
Francisco, looked for "mail-order"
patients to cure by a method not
revealed in the letter below. I think it's a
masterpiece of American
advertising.
Obviously - look at the examination
sheet and return envelope
- the recipient never took Dr.
Thompson's offer. So much for my
opinion.

museum. The daughter of Dr.
Thompson's third husband, Jerrie
Wacholder, contributed the
biographical information and
documents.
